Welcome to the Midnordic Culture Days 24.-26.9.2014 in Satakunta Finland. The Midnordic Culture Days topic this year is World Heritage and issues of cultural, natural, industrial and intangible heritage of the Midnordic area. Seminar is aimed for cultural field experts, researches, cultural organizations, students and others interested in cultural issues. Midnordic Culture Days 2014 are organised in cooperation with the provinces of Satakunta, Osthrobothnia and Union of the Balltic Cities, Commission on Culture.

The Midnordic Culture Days' program is free of charge and open to all attendees.

Seminar: World heritage and its importance in the region at Culture House Poselli. Lectures about world heritage sites and nominations. Seminar is hosted by Satakunta region.

9.45 - 10.30

The road towards becoming a world heritage site – Finnish thoughts on the World Heritage List. National Board of Antiquities, Senior Researcher Stefan Wessman.

Fascinating historical wooden towns -
Welcome to the Old Rauma Unesco World Heritage site.

The former mining town of Røros - UNESCO Heritage Site.

Gathering in theme-groups and walking to working group sites in Old Rauma with the
moderators.

  Theme 1: Everyday life in World Heritage site discussions from local residents point of view etc.
  Theme 2: Doing business in World Heritage site
 

Theme 3: World Heritage sites protection and maintenance, Tammela Old Rauma Renovation Centre

Bus transportation from Rauma to Sammallahdenmäki World Heritage site.

14.30 – 16.00 Excursion: Sammallahdenmäki Bronze Age burial cairns, World Heritage Site.
Guided walking tour (about 2 km).

For those interested in "The role of culture in developing the attractiveness of a place/area" there is a interesting seminar at Kauttuan Klubi (Kauttua Factory Park in Eura) at wednesday 24.9.2014 at 9.00-15.00.
How cultural heritage can improve the attractiveness of a place/area? The aim of the seminar is to bring together people, businesses and organizations of creative industries and to enhance creative networking. Kauttua Factory Park offers a great location for the seminar, regarding its historical and architectural relevance. Most of the presentations will be in Finnish. Read more!
